Synopsis
Su Shu, an unmarried woman above the normal age for marriage, decides to make an important decision on the eve of her wedding. She is just one step away from marriage and must decide whether to keep it or give it up. It was only a fleeting thought…
In the heart of every glamorous woman lives a ragged old woman, and she strives to flee from this image. And in the heart of every ragged old woman, there exists a pure, beautiful and young woman.
Traditionally, the Chinese believe that marriage is considered a woman's destiny, but any life outside of marriage is considered as a wandering spirit. The old woman who begs for a living wanders her whole life, while the drunken young woman wanders for one night. The old woman is the actual wanderer, however the young is a wandering spirit. They live as mirrors to each other, with two destinies, passing by each other twice…
Life is like a road, where we meet some people, and something happened between these people. The process of living is like wandering, from one city to another, one job to another, and an old relationship to a new. Whether this process is volatile or normal, the end result leads to death. Everyone dies and becomes equal.
It does not matter if you live inside or outside the walls, just like it does not matter if you dress like a bagger or an office lady. All of these things are just the house where you live and can be taken off, but what is more meaningful is the spirit in the house and appearance. Is it peaceful? and happy?
